Commenting on U.S. President Donald Trump's threat to impose additional 10% tariffs on countries that join "the Anti-American policies of BRICS", Celso Amorim, a top foreign-policy adviser to Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, said on Monday, that they haven’t done anything against the U.S. "We consider the U.S. a great partner,” he added.
Amorim warned that if the U.S. were to start issuing tariffs on Brazil, “they would be shooting themselves in the foot,” noting that Brazil currently runs a trade deficit with the United States.
