Japan's top trade negotiator Ryosei Akazawa said on Tuesday that he had a phone call with U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent earlier in the day.
The official added that the U.S. and Japan agreed to continue vigorous talks on tariffs, noting that Japan continues to seek a mutually beneficial agreement with the U.S.
