U.S. Treasury yields edge up ahead of Fed minutes release

U.S. Treasury yields saw slight increases on Wednesday as market participants awaited the release of the minutes from the Federal Reserve’s latest meeting.

The 30-year Treasury yield increased by 1 basis point to 4.95%. Similarly, the 10-year note rose by roughly 1 basis point to 4.473%. The yield on the 2-year Treasury crept up just under 1 basis point to 3.959%.

Investors are focused on the minutes from the May Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting, scheduled for release at 18:00 GMT. Market watchers are seeking greater clarity on the Fed’s monetary policy outlook, particularly in the context of ongoing trade-related uncertainty.

At the May 7 meeting, the U.S. central bank opted to keep its interest rates unchanged, while highlighting growing economic uncertainties and rising stagflation risks.

Markets are also looking ahead to other key economic reports this week. On Thursday morning, updated figures on U.S. gross domestic product growth will be released. On Friday, investors will closely watch the personal consumption expenditures (PCE) index, the Fed’s preferred measure of inflation, for further signals on the state of the economy.
